About Ancient Ayurveda System
Ayurveda, an ancient system of health and healing originating in India over 5,000 years ago, emphasizes holistic wellness and the balance of body, mind, and spirit. The Sanskrit words “Ayur” (life) and “Veda” (knowledge) derive the term “Ayurveda,” which translates to “the science of life.” Ayurveda aims to prevent and treat illness by maintaining balance in the body’s energies.
Central to Ayurvedic philosophy are the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These doshas represent different combinations of the five fundamental elements—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—and govern various physiological and psychological functions.
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system from India that focuses on balancing the body’s energies to achieve optimal health. It encompasses a comprehensive approach to wellness, integrating diet, lifestyle, herbal solutions, and spiritual practices.
Vata Dosha
Air and ether compose Vata, which drives movement and communication. It regulates functions such as breathing, circulation, and nerve impulses. Balanced Vata promotes creativity and vitality, while imbalance can lead to anxiety and dryness.
Pitta Dosha
Pitta consists of fire and water and governs digestion, metabolism, and energy production. It is associated with qualities like heat, sharpness, and intensity. Moreover, balanced Pitta supports intelligence and leadership, but when imbalanced, it can cause inflammation and irritability.
Kapha Dosha
Kapha is made up of earth and water, providing structure, stability, and lubrication to the body. It controls growth, immunity, and fluid balance. Consequently, balanced Kapha fosters strength and calmness, whereas imbalance can result in lethargy and congestion.
